Decentralized extension system

  • Rural Municipality is the lowest administrative unit of the government, where every citizen interfaces first in need of services and support. It is therefore the rural municipality has to fulfill expectations of the people.
  • In a decentralized system, the folks at the bottom are in charge which is very different from the past, hence, very difficult to accept for the majority of us.
  • The Rural municipality have a crucial role to play in agriculture development as they create enabling environment for a promotion of agricultural enterprise and for enhancing investment.
  • The Rural municipality have important role to play in coordination with different government and nongovernment agencies to work at different levels of value chains.
