Approach of evaluation
- Before and after approach: program impact of the cumulative effect on past program. This type of evaluation can be use only when base line data are available.
- With and without approach: Effect of natural process of development as well as other development program underway in the area of study.
Type of evaluation
- Ex-ante evaluation: Project is evaluated before it is executed
- Concurrent evaluation: Assessment is made while it is underway
- Ex-post evaluation: Assessment is made after the project is completed
- Informal evaluation: Unsystematic the criteria and evidences used in making judgment are implicit
- Formal evaluation: Formal and systematic is more like to make useful decision
- Self-evaluation: organization, program manager, teacher, from himself/herself is a evaluator of that program
- Internal evaluation: appointed other person, committee by themselves for the purpose of evaluation providing the area or indicators of evaluation based on the log frame or the objectives of program or organization
- External evaluation: Appointed external agency, person by the general assembly, donor organization based on the program’s or organizational target, goal and objectives
- Ongoing evaluation: Action oriented analysis of project effect and impacts as compared to anticipation to be carried out during implementation
- Formative evaluation: conducted before and during the project implementation
- Summative evaluation: after the completion of project to assess the accomplishment whether the intended objectives are met or not
