Wool shearing Methods :
1) Hand Shearing :
- Shear with sharpen blades
- Time consuming
- Fleece cannot be cut evenly
- Can be done at any times
- cannot be applied on commercial farming.
2) Machine shearing :
- Shear with mechanically operated machine.
- Time saving
- Fleece can be cut evenly
3) Chemical shearing :
- rug like cyclophosphamide (CPA) at 24 mg /kg / body weight is used.
- It arrest cell division in follicle causing break in the wool.
- Excessive usual overdose causes wool fall.
