Dehorning / Disbudding

• It is the process of removal of horn or preventing their growth.

Methods :

a) Chemical method

b) Mechanical method

1. Electric dehorner
2. Hot iron rod

a) Chemical method :

• Chemical agent like caustic soda are used.

b) Electric dehorner :

• It has automatic control maintains temperature of 1000 0F.
• Hold dehorner for 10 second to destroy horn.

c) Hot iron rod :

• Similar to electric dehorner.
• Use of red-hot iron of >1000 0F. Temperature.
