Extension education: Meaning and definition

  • The world extension is derived Latin word ex= Out, tension=Stretching, to extend, to spread, to
  • disseminate by attaching the meaning to the term extension, extending the relevant and useful information to the adult population at large.
  • FAO defines agriculture extension as an informal out of school education service for training and influencing farmers and their families to adopt improved practice in crop and livestock production, management, conservation and marketing.
