Stress

  • Stress is any external factor that affects the normal growth and development of plant as a result plant or plant parts get tension which finally results in less than optimum growth rate
  • It means any factor (temperature, moisture, salt, etc) that interrupts, restricts or accelerates normal metabolic process as a result, plant or its parts get tension
  1. Moisture/ Water stress
  • Too much water (water logging condition) or too less water (draught condition) can cause problem for horticultural crop production

 

  1. Temperature stress
  • Every plant has its own optimum temperature for its better growth and development beyond which plant experiences stress
