Introduction

  • The rearing of new born animal by the use of milk replacer as an artificial diet and in artificial environment is known as artificial rearing of calf.

i. Housing should be dry and clean

ii. Provision of well ventilation and environment.

iii. Feeding mother milk artificially (1/20th) weight upto 1 week , (1/15th) body upto 2nd week (1/20th) body weight of calf upto 3rd week.

iv. Feeding calf starter ration by decreasing mother natural milk.

v. Milk replacer after 4th week is best for health and economical views.
