Heritage

  • Full range of our inherited traditions, monuments, objects, and culture.
  • Heritage includes, but is much more than preserving, excavating, displaying, or restoring a collection of old things.
  • Is both tangible and intangible, in the sense that ideas and memories–of songs, recipes, language, dances, and many other elements of who we are and how we identify ourselves–are as important as historical buildings and archaeological sites.

Cultural heritage

  • Cultural heritages are those things related to culture which passed on from one generation to next.
  • Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations.
  • Tangible culture heritage includes (such as buildings, monuments, landscapes, books, works of art, and artifacts).
  • Intangible culture (such as folklore, traditions, language, and knowledge), and natural heritage (including culturally significant landscapes, and biodiversity).
