Social problems

  • A social problem can be defined as situation, event or activity that violates or interferes with cultural values that define what is good, important and desirable in a society.
  • For a problem to be social, it must involve social systems and people’s participation in them in some way

Causes

  • Environmental factor
  • Society factor (fall out between different castes, cultures and religion in a society)
  • Physiological factor
  • Peer group or family pressure
  • Disagreement between individuals or groups in a society
  • Government interferences and policies
