Change Process of modernization of society
a) Economical:
- Differentiation of activity, division of labor, up gradation of technical production
- Simple occupation are replaced by complex
- Level of occupational skill rise up
- Ratio of capital to labor increase
- Market lead replacement of exchange economies with extensive markets
- Agriculture shift to more commercial, industrial and non agriculture activities
- High levels of urbanization
b) Psychological:
- Basic shift in values,
- Basic shift in attitudes
- Basic shift in expectation, more receptive to change, more interested in the future
- Based on less fatalistic.
c) Social:
- Change in interdependence/interaction between among individual and groups
- Indefinite role functions of social group changes to definite role and functions
- Social relations are more bureaucratic, status relations are based less on age, gender
- Kinship ties are weaker, and nuclear family systems prevail
- Birthrates and death rates are lower, and life expectancy is relatively longer.
d) Political:
- Society becomes more participatory in decision-making processes, and typical Institutions include universal suffrage, political parties, bureaucracy, and parliaments.
