Change Process of modernization of society

a) Economical:

  • Differentiation of activity, division of labor, up gradation of technical production
  • Simple occupation are replaced by complex
  • Level of occupational skill rise up
  • Ratio of capital to labor increase
  • Market lead replacement of exchange economies with extensive markets
  • Agriculture shift to more commercial, industrial and non agriculture activities
  • High levels of urbanization

 

b) Psychological:

  • Basic shift in values,
  • Basic shift in attitudes
  • Basic shift in expectation, more receptive to change, more interested in the future
  • Based on less fatalistic.

 

c) Social:

  • Change in interdependence/interaction between among individual and groups
  • Indefinite role functions of social group changes to definite role and functions
  • Social relations are more bureaucratic, status relations are based less on age, gender
  • Kinship ties are weaker, and nuclear family systems prevail
  • Birthrates and death rates are lower, and life expectancy is relatively longer.

 

d) Political:

  • Society becomes more participatory in decision-making processes, and typical Institutions include universal suffrage, political parties, bureaucracy, and parliaments.
