Decentralization practice in Nepal

  • was adopted in Nepal Government policy in third planning period (1965-1970) associated and involve the planning and decision-making process with specific reference to planning and development at the local level.
  • Since then, has been followed as development strategy by the country. Currently local bodies (LBs) exercise and manage local development activities as per following

a) Local Self Government Act (LSGA) 1999

b) Local Self Government Regulation (LSGR) 1999

c) Local body (Financial administration) Regulation 2007

d) Local resource mobilization guideline 2067 and 2069
