Measuring development

a. Economies indices:

  • Gross Domestic Product: Total value of goods and services produced in a country. Includes all income of the resident of nation, corporate and individuals which derive directly from the current production of goods and services.
  • Gross National Product: Including income from investments abroad. it is the sum of the property income from abroad and the GDP.
  • Purchasing Power Parity: Takes into account local cost of living and usually expressed per capita
  • GDP/GNP per capita: Total value divided by the total population.
