Transformational Approach

Transactional Approach

Focus: Empowering citizens to build their voice, claim assets and services and influence decisions procedures and policies of institutions in favour of citizens.

Focus: Group formation for service delivery, asset creation, fund flow, savings and credit and skill enhancement.

Process: Helping citizens to understand their social, economic and political situation by undertaking analysis of the underlying causes of poverty and related process.

Process: Regarding the causes of poverty as being largely a lack of resources, it uses limited analytical tools for group formation such as social mapping and well-being ranking.

 

Assumption of social mobilization

  1. People have willingness to help themselves for the benefit of self and the community as a whole
  2. Organization, capital and skills are effective everywhere as a fundamental elements of development
  3. The social, cultural, political, economic, geographical and environmental condition outline the actual form of development in any place
  4. People sharing the same geographical proximity and having common interest have willingness to work in an organized way
  5. Participation of all interest group is more effective for sustainability of the development efforts
  6. People consent to enter into partnership with view to receive sectoral service and facilities
