Cellulose degradation

  • Many microbes are capable to degrade the cellulose into carbon dioxide, water, methane, ethyl-alcohol, acetic-acid, lactic-acid, formic-acid etc.
  • Examples of fungi that participate in cellular degradation are:
  1. Alternaria spp.
  2. Aspergillus spp.
  3. Phoma spp.
  4. Cheretomium spp.
  5. Curvularia spp.
  6. Memnoniella spp.
  7. Penicillium spp.
  8. Fusarium spp.
  9. Polyporous spp.
  10. Rhizoctonia spp.
  11. Rhizopus spp.
  12. Trichoderma spp.
  13. Verticillium spp.
  14. Zygorinchus spp.
