Sterilization strategy

• In this technique, the insects itself is used for its control e.g. screw-worm (Cochliomyla boviminlovorax) can be eradicated by releasing sterile male screw worm (rendered on sterile by irradiation) at the time of mating.
• In this way the natural fertile population is greatly reduced.
