 RNA —Translation — Protein

The synthesis of protein can be divided into three phases:

a. Initiation :

  • It is done by formation of a complex between mRNA, two ribosomal sub units and the tRNA carrying the initiating amino acid.

b. Elongation:

  • A repeated cycle of amino acyl-tRNA binding, addition of AA to the C-terminal and release of tRNA.

c. Termination:

  • It occurs by the release of completed polypeptide.
