Different kinds of diseases

• Classification of disease on the basis of the body system they affect. such as repiratory, digestive, genital, urinary, circulatory, muscular, osseous, skin, nervous disease etc.
• Classification based on cause are as follows

a) Infectious disease: – Disease caused by infectious agent and is transferable from infected animal to susceptible animal, is called as infectious disease.

b) Contagious disease: – Those disease which are transmitted from one to another by direct contact are called as contagious disease. All contagious diseases are infectious disease but all infectious diseases are not contagious disease.

c) Parasitic diseases are due to different kinds of internal parasites. Like stomach worms, and external parasites like mange.

d) Deficiency diseases are due to different kinds of nutritional deficiencies. Rickets and goiter are examples.

e) Metabolic diseases are due to some kind of an upset in metabolism that affects important body processes. Examples are milk fever and acetonemia.

f) Allergic disorders can be due to allergic reactions. Photosensitization, serum shock etc. are the examples.

g) Poisoning can occur in animals due to eating something that destroys tissues or interferes with normal body activities. Examples are sweet clover disease, cyanide poisoning etc.

h) Congenital defects are due to heredity or improper foetal development and are generally found at the time of birth. White heifer disease, freemartins, etc.

i) Injuries are damages done to body by cuts, blows, falls and other accidents and result in broken skin surface, fractures, wire cuts and hematomas.

j) Miscellaneous troubles include those that cannot be classified under any other heading such as tumours, prolapse of uterus, bloat etc.
