Scope of livestock farming in Nepal

Nepalese food habit of consuming milk, meat, eggs and its product increasing day by day. On the other hand population is also increasing. These creates an opportunity to the livestock animals and their products. In this way livestock farming can contribute to improving food security of the nation while creating employment and income for the rural household

• To solve the problems of food, shelter, clothes for rural development.
• To get another livestock products these are; bone, wool, hide, manure etc.
• To generate employment
• As a source of transport in hilly and some rural areas of Nepal.
• As a source of income, entertainment and cultural activities.
