Signs of disease

  • Movement and behavior will change, standing with head down or showing undue weariness or a tendency to separate from herd are warning symptoms
  • Loss of appetite and stoppage of rumination in case of ruminants are early signs of several diseases.
  • A coarse and dry skin especially in pigs indicates disease.
  • The muzzle will be dry in animals having high temperature.
  • High or low body temperature than the normal.
  • Variation in rate and depth of breathing than normal.
  • Variation in pulse rate than the normal.
  • Discharges from the eyes.
  • Change in consistency of dung.
  • Dark or bloody colour and abnormal odour is the sign of disease
  • Pus containing discharges from genital organs indicate septic conditions of the reproductive organs.
  • Change in quality and quantity of milk yield.
