Function:
- Help in emulsification, absorption and digestion of fat.
- Activates the action of lipase.
- Bile salts acts as bactericides.
- Neutralizes excess acids before entering ileum.
Regulation:
- As chyme (acidic) enter duodenum, enteroendocrine cell of duodenum stimulate two hormone namely cholecystokinin and secretin.
- Secretin: increase bile secretion by liver.
- CCK: contract gall bladder so that bile get released.
