Cerebral hemisphere

  • Formed 80% of total brain
  • Pair of cerebral hemisphere form cerebrum
  • These two hemisphere are connected by nerve fibres called corpus callosum
  • Sulci divide cerebral hemisphere into different lobes like: Frontal, Parietal, Occipital and Temporal.
  • Each hemisphere contains centre which is filled with Cerebrospinal fluid
  • Each lobe of hemisphere contains many areas which control different activities such as Motor area – voluntary, premotor – involuntary, vision for visual, auditory for hearing, etc.
  • Function: site of learning, thinking, reasoning, memory, emotions, etc.
