Group communication System

  • Group communication means exchange of ideas, information and skills with more than two or a group of people like in group meeting and method demonstration.
  • A group communication system provides the ability for one member of a group to efficiently broadcast a message to all other members of the same group.

 

Dimensions of group characteristics

Dimension of group characteristics that determine the communication effectiveness Group structure,

  1. Type of group,
  2. Group cohesiveness,
  3. Group norms and
  4. Development stage of the group.

 

Strategies for effective group communication

  1. Present issues: Problems and their solutions. Example : The issue can be Marketing of apples in Humla , Jumla and Mustang, soil erosion in Nepal etc.
  2. Plans, Program, Technique and Implementation: After knowing the present issues and problems programs should be made for implementing plan
  3. Review of the situation through meeting; evaluate the work done frequently to know the progress problem of the program.
  4. Close examination of development in which various groups in term of agricultural, Political, economic, social, cultural, ethnical etc.
  5. Creation of standard basis for future development plan. The situation basis is determined on the basis of past experiences.
  6. Different group have different interest
  7. Take network topology into account when making decisions on how to replicate information

  8. More effective learning environment and effective group learning
  9. Farmer group causes enabling farmers to organize themselves for action or to share resources
  10. Joint decision-making ease to take high risk.
